Ellis is a cynical and blunt workaholic of a man. A perfectionist to a fault, his habit of carrying the world squarely upon his shoulders is likely to crush him any day now. Combined with his unwillingness to be open and genuine with others, he comes across as a stubborn and wholly unapproachable person. He prefers it that way.
Despite not playing well with others, and having a relatively sour disposition, Ellis IS a very skilled investigator and is devoted to doing what he feels is right. He is ultimately a force for good, though his stubbornness and attitude may imply otherwise. At his core he is a very loyal and hardworking person, invested in making the world a better place for and protecting those he finds dear.
