The town sign catches your eye as you drive down the main road into Asterwood. For such a seemingly plain and unassuming town, they certainly do have a way with the local artwork. Small statues, murals and art installations litter the city in the main part of downtown, into the parks that dot their way throughout. You get the feeling that this is a pretty relaxed community, and you've barely been here for more than a few minutes.

First impressions aside, you notice that besides the artsy installations, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot going on. People walking around, sure, but there isn't anywhere for people to really gather outside of the myriad of parks and a few local cafes. There's a small community college on one side of town, but you could hardly call that a place to hang out. You begin to realize how and why this place isn't as big as Brookemount, despite having a much richer artistic culture.

Asterwood is a city located in the Pacific Northwest. With a population of only 60,000 or so, it's nothing compared to the much larger Brookemount. It's a middle of the road town, out in the middle of nowhere, with few attractions to keep tourists around. It's a self contained community. The locals are friendly, of course, but most get the feeling that they're only temporarily welcome when they pass through. Once a year Asterwood hosts the Daisy Parade, a 3 day festival celebrating the blooming of spring that gave the town it's name.
